Flextronics Procures Motorola Mobility's Facilities in China and Brazil

Flextronics, a Singapore-based EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) provider for Google and Apple, inked an agreement with Google's Motorola Mobility to acquire the latter's manufacturing facilities in Tianjin, China, and Jaguariuna, Brazil, according to Flextronics' press release on 10 December. Employees and assets at both premises will be handed over to Flextronics upon the settlement of the transaction. In addition, a manufacturing and services agreement for Android and other mobile devices will also be incorporated into the Flextronics-Motorola deal. The deal is said to still require approvals from regulatory authorities and is expected to be closed in the first half of 2013. Further details with respect to financial terms, however, were not yet disclosed.
